SUPERVISORY REALTY SPECIALIST

About the Position: As Section Chief you will have complete responsibility for planning, scheduling, directing, accomplishing, supervising and reviewing all civil works, other projects and work for others real estate activities under the jurisdiction of the Corps of Engineers. *Incentives may be available for highly qualified candidates.


  • Plan, schedule, direct, accomplish, supervise, and review all civil works, other projects and work for others real estate activities under the jurisdiction of the Corps of Engineers.
  • Ensure the acquisition of real property interests for civil work, and other projects through purchase, condemnation, exchange, transfer, lease, and permit.
  • Out-grant various real estate interests which include, but are not limited to, agricultural and grazing leases, road and utility easements, public park leases, permits to other Federal agencies, and a wide variety of other out-grants.
  • Incumbent is responsible for the direction of contract work, including items such as budget, deadlines, standards of work, and arranging for work inspections.
  • Review transactions and instruments for completeness and compliance with policies and goals of the Division, the District, and USACE.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: 1) managing and executing complex real property transactions such as acquisitions, out-grants, or encroachment resolutions; AND 2) planning, coordinating, or overseeing the workflow and resource requirements of a real estate program or team; AND 3) negotiating, justifying, or defending significant realty transactions with internal and external stakeholders to ensure compliance with laws, policies, and regulations. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12). Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
