General Engineer
This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Certain Personnel of the DoD Workforce to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service. About the Position: Serves as a General Engineer Project Manager requiring a multidisciplinary familiarity in building architecture, civil and industrial engineering.
- Serves as a General Engineer and Project Manager for facility engineering projects, including facility inspection, developing scope, initial cost estimates, concept designs, and plans for SRM and construction Programs.
- Develops comprehensive engineering design criteria, design analyses, cost estimates, statements of work, and specifications for construction, repair, and maintenance projects, ensuring compliance with all regulatory and safety standards.
- Manages and tracks project schedules and milestones for planning, design, and construction phases, keeping leadership informed of progress and coordinating with all relevant personnel to resolve project issues.
- Acts as the technical authority during the construction phase, interpreting contract specifications, monitoring contractor progress, and performing quality assurance to ensure projects meet all requirements.
- Serves as the primary technical consultant for the DPW and higher headquarters, providing expert advice to other engineers, tenant leadership, and external agencies on design criteria and project requirements.

This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service GS-11.
